Quandre Diggs is heading west.
The former Texas Longhorns standout spent four-plus seasons with the Detroit Lions to start his NFL career, but was traded to the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday with a 2021 seventh-round draft pick in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Diggs signed a three-year, $20.4 million contract during the offseason and currently has 20 tackles through the first five games. He should make an immediate impact in a Seahawks secondary that is only producing at an average level right now and is experiencing some injuries.
A sixth-round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Lions, Diggs was drafted as a cornerback, but moved to strong safety in 2017, leading to the most productive season of his career in 2018 when he recorded 78 tackles, three tackles for loss, and three interceptions.
