A reeling Texas Longhorns secondary could be without two starters on Saturday in Fort Worth against the TCU Horned Frogs, as head coach Tom Herman said following practice on Thursday that sophomore safeties BJ Foster (shoulder) and DeMarvion Overshown (shoulder) are game-time decisions.
Overshown was non-contact in practice after suffering from shoulder pain following the win over Kansas and then again on Monday.
After noting the toughness of Foster, Herman said that the Angleton product was visibly struggling last Saturday against the Jayhawks and was also wearing a non-contact jersey in practice this week.
The good news is that sophomore cornerback Jalen Green practiced all week and is cleared to return against TCU after missing three games due to a dislocated shoulder suffered a month ago.
Freshman running back Jordan Whittington has not suffered any setbacks in his return from a sports hernia surgery and should return to action following the bye week for the game against Kansas State. Sophomore safety Caden Sterns (knee) and senior linebacker Jeffrey McCulloch (shoulder) are also expected back when the Horns host the Wildcats.
