Texas WR Brennan Eagles missed practice this week

Just a little bit more drama in a dramatic week.

NCAA Football: Kansas at Texas Scott Wachter-USA TODAY Sports

Following Thursday’s practice, head coach Tom Herman confirmed reports that sophomore wide receiver Brennan Eagles missed practice on Tuesday due to personal reasons.

Herman said that Eagles returned on Wednesday and has participated in all team activities since then and “had a great practice” on Thursday. According to a report from Horns247, Eagles didn’t inform the staff of his absence from practice ahead of time, but had a meeting with Herman on Wednesday to get back on the same page as his head coach.

So the expectation is that Eagles will travel with the team to Fort Worth on Saturday to take on TCU. Eagles ranks fourth on the team with 19 receptions, but second in receiving yards at 19.3 yards per catch. Most notably, he’s helped the passing game to the field by providing an explosive threat who can score from distance or in the red zone — he’s tied for second on the team with five touchdown receptions.
