Australian native and seven-time Formula Winner Daniel Ricciardo is a big fan of Austin, so he partnered with the Texas Longhorns to create a unique look for this weekend’s US Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas this Sunday — he’ll wear a Longhorns-themed helmet and race boots.

“I just get some weird energy in Austin. I just get so excited and all week, I’m buzzing,” Ricciardo said. “Knowing that the faster I drive, the quicker I can get back to the city and have brisket, it’s all the motivation one needs.”
The helmet features the iconic Longhorns logo, Ricciardo’s name and number on the back, and a painted facemask. The burnt orange and white Alpinestars race boots he’ll wear feature “Hook ‘em” on the sides.
On Thursday, Hook ‘Em and Texas cheerleaders attended the United States Grand Prix Media Day to present Ricciardo with the limited edition gear.
