After outlasting a ranked Kansas State Wildcats, 27-24, courtesy of a game-winning field goal from Cameron Dicker, the Texas Longhorns are once again ranked among the AP Top 25, coming in at No. 22 in the latest poll.
Similarly, the Longhorns jumped back into the Amway Coaches Poll, coming in at No. 23.
Texas has now spent the majority of its season ranked, with the exception being the previous two weeks as then-No. 15 Texas fell from the polls in the aftermath of a 37-27 road loss to the TCU Horned Frogs. Following the bye week, though, Texas got back to its winning ways, overcoming a 14-0 first-quarter deficit behind the strength of a 24-0 run.
With the win over K-State, Texas improved to 6-3 overall and 4-2 in Big 12 play, but the road ahead won’t get any easier, as the Longhorns will now get set to travel to Ames for yet another must-win matchup against the Iowa State Cyclones (5-4, 3-3).
Kickoff between the Longhorns and Cyclones is set for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT on FS1.
