In the national SB Nation FanPulse Top 25, the LSU Tigers remained in the No. 1 spot this week as the Texas Longhorns remained outside of the poll following Saturday’s last-second loss to the Iowa State Cyclones.
With one win over a current top-25 team, Texas has a chance to make an impression this weekend with a road win in Waco against No. 11 Baylor.
In the BON poll, Oklahoma and Baylor were in the same positions as the national poll, with Oklahoma State one spot higher at No. 24
The biggest changes, of course, came in the fan confidence poll for the football program’s direction.
The poll hit a low of 11.9-percent confidence after the TCU game, improved to 29.6 percent just because Texas didn’t play the next weekend, spiked to 66.7 percent after the Kansas State game and is now back below the post-Horned Frogs overreaction at 10.4 percent.
Mmm, love the smell of the cesspool in the evening.
Meanwhile, fan confidence in the basketball program took a dip from 72.1 percent to 64.6 percent after a convincing win against California Baptist and a less impressive performance against Prairie View A&M, but surely remains poised to absolutely crater with a loss or otherwise unsatisfactory game.
