Three star Tyler Junior College athlete Maureese Wren announced via his Twitter page that he would be visiting Texas later this month for the Texas Tech game.
Wren is a division I bounce back after he initially inked with Louisiana Tech out of Mesquite Horn in 2018. Wren was briefly committed to Missouri during the summer before backing off his pledge not too long after and projects to outside linebacker despite initially signing on LA Tech to play wide receiver.
Wren played wide receiver for Tyler Junior College in 2018 and made 4 catches for 72 yards, but has since transitioned to linebacker. He is listed at 6’3” and 230 pounds on TJC’s roster, and through the team’s first eight games this fall he has been credited with 36 total tackles, 4 sacks, 9 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and 2 pass break-ups.
Texas kicked tires on Wren the first time around before opting to pursue other options, so it would not be too surprising to see them once again inquire now that it looks like he is back on the open market.
