Eight years ago, former Texas Longhorns standout Kevin Durant wore the KD 4 ‘Christmas’ against the Orlando Magic for a Christmas Day game.
As the decade comes to a close, the football team will wear a KD-branded cleat based on those shoes in the Alamo Bowl against the Utah Utes that Texas head coach Tom Herman collaborated with Nike to create.
The school revealed the cleats publicly on Wednesday as Herman revealed them to the team.

For a school that places a heavy emphasis on tradition when it comes to the football uniform, the cleats mark a sharp change — the Alamo Bowl will be the first time in program history that the Longhorns won’t wear black or white cleats.
