It was the best of Early Signing Days, it was the worst of Early Signing Days.

Overall, the Texas Longhorns signed 16 out of roughly 22 commits, but suffered decommitments from a number of prospects such as wide receiver Quentin Johnson, defensive backs Joshua Eaton and Ethan Pouncey, all-purpose back Ty Jordan, and defensive ends Van Fillinger and Princely Umanmielen.

On Wednesday, head coach Tom Herman discussed the 16 signees — seven of whom are planning to enroll in the spring. The class currently ranks No. 10 nationally — behind the No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners — and No. 2 in the Big 12, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
