When No. 2 RB Bijan Robinson will sign his NLI

The top-ranked recruit in the 2020 recruiting class for the Longhorns will be the last to send in his signature.

And then there was one.

Starting with a flurry just after 7:00 a.m. Central and ending about 100 minutes later, the Texas Longhorns secured signatures from 15 of the 16 commits entering Wednesday’s Early Signing Day, leaving only Tuscon (Az.) Salpointe Catholic running back Bijan Robinson, the top-ranked recruit in the class and the nation’s No. 15 prospect, according to the 247Sport Composite rankings.

So, what’s going on? With the recent coaching changes at Texas, there has been plenty of speculation about whether Robinson would remain in the class. And while there’s still a chance that Robinson does change his mind, the wait is merely because his signing ceremony is set for 1:30 p.m. Central.

Publicly, he’s said the right things recently.

“College football is better when Texas is good,” Robinson told Bleacher Report. “Trying to get them back to the top is my mindset. I mean, I could go to Ohio State or LSU or a team that’s already enjoying great success. But getting Texas back to where it needs to be is what my focus is.”

To pass the time until Robinson officially joins the Longhorns recruiting class, perhaps watching his senior highlights will help assuage the anxiety of waiting.
