The Longhorn Republic looks into Mike Yurcich

The former Oklahoma State offensive coordinator has emerged as the top candidate for the vacant offensive coordinator position.

NCAA Football: Texas Tech at Texas Scott Wachter-USA TODAY Sports

Stadium’s Brett McMurphy reported Sunday that Ohio State Buckeyes passing game coordinator Mike Yurcich is the lead candidate for the Texas Longhorns’ vacant offensive coordinator position. Prior to Ohio State, Yurcich spent six seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Oklahoma State Cowboys, calling plays for high-powered Mike Gundy offenses.

Whoever ends up as the offensive coordinator will have plenty of players to slot into his system, as Texas secured the signatures of 17 athletes as part of the early signing period. How do they fit into the short and long-term at Texas and who will contribute early?
