The other remaining contenders for the 5’10, 165-pounder include Alabama, Florida, LSU, and Oklahoma.
Texas entered the recruitment of Williams back in April with an offer after the speedster recorded 51 catches for 903 yards and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore. It’s notable that the Horns made the cut for him despite not currently having an offensive coordinator or any wide receivers coaches. Since Williams has close to 30 offers, that’s an impressive accomplishment for Texas.
But whether head coach Tom Herman’s program can emerge as a serious contender for Williams remains to be seen — Oklahoma currently holds all three 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions for him.
A consensus four-star prospect, Williams is ranked as the No. 48 player nationally and the No. 6 wide receiver, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
