The Texas Longhorns are still in the mix for one of the nation’s top prospects, as consensus five-star Seattle (Wash.) Garfield linebacker Sav’ell Smalls included the Horns among his top 12 schools on Sunday:

The decision by Smalls to focus on those 12 schools is narrowed from the 31 offers currently held by the nation’s top outside linebacker in the 2020 class. Texas originally offered Smalls last August and intrigues the 6’3, 230-pounder enough that he’s not only still considering the Longhorns, he also wants to visit Austin:
Ima definitely get down to Austin and see what UT about https://t.co/7D6UegZHJw

There’s not a strong consensus about where Smalls is leaning, as he has 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions for Alabama, Florida State, and Washington, with the most recent projections cast in favor of the Seminoles last summer.
In addition to ranking as the nation’s No. 4 prospect and the top outside linebacker, Smalls is also considered the top prospect in Washington, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
