The Texas Longhorns basketball team struggled in the Big 12 Tournament, dropping their only game to the Kansas Jayhawks and falling to 16-16 on the season. The Longhorns now head to the NIT as a No. 2 seed, hosting the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. They will have to do that without freshman phenom Jaxson Hayes, who injured his knee in the loss to the Jayhawks (3:28).
On the diamond, the Texas Longhorns completed their first conference series with a 2-1 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Texas managed two come-from-behind wins thanks to both strong pitching from their young arms, as well as an all-around incredible performance from senior Masen Hibbeler (17:17).
Spring practice is fully underway and the position groupings are starting to take shape. The Longhorns be able to boast maturity up front while leaning on its young talent on the back end to rebuild. They still have 12 practices left and several potential contributors scheduled to join the team in the fall, but we’re already getting a look at what the Longhorns can look like in the 2019 season (26:05).
We then whip you around the campus, catching up with the other programs wearing Burnt Orange in our new segment, Downing the Forty (33:37). And finally, we close the show out with Bang the Drum, with Kyle excited for a Texas takeover in Baltimore and Gerald celebrating the recovery of Derrian Brown (41:05).
