The No. 7 rated prospect from the state of Louisiana took the next step in his recruiting process on Tuesday evening by releasing his Top 13 schools. The Texas Longhorns are among one of the many programs still under consideration by Joel Williams.

The other programs still in contention for the Louisiana athlete are Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.
In order to land another talented recruit from the boot state, Tom Herman and Jason Washington will have to out-recruit the hometown LSU Tigers and rival Texas A&M Aggies to do so. The Aggies hold a slight edge over the Tigers in the Crystal Ball predictions for Williams, thus far.
Standing at 6’2 190-pounds, Williams plays both sides of the ball (WR/CB) for Madison Prep Academy (Baton Rouge). Along with his 75.2-inch wingspan, an impressive 35.2-inch vertical jump posted at the Opening Regionals speaks for his dual-threat athletic ability.
Williams visited the following three SEC programs over the last two months — LSU, Tennessee, and Texas A&M — and made an unofficial visit to Texas last month.
