Tom Herman and the Texas Longhorns coaching staff will be making their way out West to help participate in another satellite camp this summer.
According to 247Sports.com, the Longhorns coaching staff will join Herman’s alma mater, Cal Lutheran, on the camp circuit for the second straight year. Making sure that Texas is well represented during these satellite camps on a national scene can be impactful for the Longhorns.
California, specifically the Los Angeles area, is an intriguing spot that produces prospects that the Texas staff has and will continue to target. With current linebacker De’Gabriel Floyd serving as the latest player to attend this camp last summer and with Texas reeling in current wide receiver Bru McCoy, junior college transfer linebacker Caleb Johnson, and safety signee Chris Adimora in this past recruiting cycle, Herman and his staff have demonstrated their relevance in the Golden State.
So far, the Longhorns have sent out nine total offers to California prospects within this current recruiting class. Standouts like five-star running back Kendall Milton, five-star wide receiver Johnny Wilson, and five-star inside line backer Justin Flowe are a few of those top recruits that Texas is pursuing.
Texas has already released their schedule for on-campus camps this summer — the 4th, 9th, and 15th of June. Herman will also link up with SMU and Texas Southern for satellite camps at their respective campuses. Based off of the numerous satellite camps Herman and staff were involved in last year, expect that list to grow with more out-of-state sightings.
