One of the state’s more under-the-radar prospects has caught the attention of the Texas Longhorns coaching staff.
2021 Everman tight end Juan Davis is the latest in-state recruit to earn an offer from Tom Herman and company, he announcing on Twitter on Thursday afternoon.
Extremely excited and thankful to say I have received my 3rd offer to the University of Texas thanks to @coachwarehine. #HookEm pic.twitter.com/6iviYIQbz8

After reeling in an opportunity from the Longhorns, Davis now holds three early offers thus far with Baylor and Southern Mississippi in the running for the talented D-FW product.
Davis has been a dynamic player for his high school, being able to showcase his abilities as a pass catcher, a runner after the catch, and sometimes lining up under center at quarterback. The versatility with which Davis plays, plus his remarkable stature, is a reason the Horns will be recruiting him at the tight-end position.
As of right now, the Longhorns have offered five tight ends from the 2021 recruiting cycle. Outside of Davis, Lake Travis’s Lake McRee and Spring Dekaney’s Var’Keyes Gumms are the other in-state tight ends that Texas will be targeting.
At 6’4, 217 pounds, Davis is currently unranked, but that will change over time.
