For the first time throughout the 2021 cycle, the Texas Longhorns’ recruiting efforts have led them into Colorado, as Aurora (Co.) Cherokee Trail tight end Sam Hart becomes the latest to earn an offer from Tom Herman’s program, he announced on Tuesday.

Dubbed as the nation’s 14th-best tight end prospect, per the 247Sports Composite, Hart is owner to eight offers, with Texas joining Penn State, Ohio State, LSU, and Arkansas in the mix, among others.

He’s added each of his offers since March 30.

Hart becomes the fifth 2021 tight end talent to notch a Texas offer, and the third out-of-state target, alongside Hartwell (Ga.) Hart County product Cane Berrong, who’s currently considered the top-ranked tight end in the class, and Henderson (Nev.) Liberty standout Moliki Matavao.

The 6’5, 225-pound Hart is ranked as the nation’s No. 356 prospect overall.
