Baseball recruiting often heats up for the Texas Longhorns during the summer months and that’s the case again this year, with the commitment of 2020 Houston Strake Jesuit shortstop Dylan Campbell one of the most recent additions:

A 5’10, 180-pounder, Campbell fits the mold preferred by head coach David Pierce and his staff as a football player. As a running back for Strake Jesuit, Campbell has picked up an offer from Texas Southern after rushing for more than 1,300 yards last season while scoring 19 touchdowns.
On the baseball field, Campbell has a powerful, compact swing and enough athleticism to display the necessary range for a middle infielder. As he’s able to devote more time to baseball without focusing on football, he should be able to show a quick and positive developmental trajectory.
