Texas opponents set for Empire Classic

The Horns will face the Hoyas in the Championship Round.

Tournament organizers for the Empire Classic benefitting Wounded Warrior Project at Madison Square Garden in November announced the game times and pairings for the Texas Longhorns on Thursday.

In the first semifinal of the 25th annual event on Thursday, Nov. 21, Texas will face Georgetown at 6 p.m. Central on ESPN2. The loser of that game will face the loser of the Duke-Cal game on Friday at 4 p.m. Central in the consolation round on ESPN2 or ESPNU, while the winners will play at approximately 6:30 p.m. Central on ESPN2.

The opening two games of the Classic will pit Texas against California Baptist on Tuesday, Nov. 12 and Prairie View A&M on Friday, Nov. 15 at the Erwin Center in the Austin Regional round.

The Longhorns previously won the Empire Classic in 2006 and 2014 and has also made four other appearances.
