It’s the Red River Showdown week, at least for the podcast, so we brought on Allen Kenney (@BlatantHomerism) from Crimson and Cream Machine to give some insight into the 2019 Oklahoma Sooners.

After splitting the 2018 season with the Texas Longhorns, the Sooners need to replace yet another Heisman Trophy quarterback and will turn to Jalen Hurts to fill the role. The Alabama Crimson Tide transfer has a different skill set than his predecessors, so what will the offense look like as the Sooners potentially retool?

The other big question is the Oklahoma defense, looking to improve on a season that left them looking up at most of the country statistically. New defensive coordinator Alex Grinch will be dialing up the defense but returns nine from a group that ranked No, 130 in the nation in pass defense. Will Grinch be able to turn it around quickly or will the Sooners experience some growing pains on the defense?
