On Tuesday and Friday of the following week, Texas will play the first two games of the Empire Classic at home to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project. An announcement of those opponents will follow in the future. After winning the NIT this spring in New York City, the Horns will play on Thursday, Nov. 21 and Friday, Nov. 22 against a pool of teams that includes California, Duke, and Georgetown. The Empire Classic will announce those pairings and matchups in the future, as well.
Home games against McNeese State and UAB follow upon the return to Austin before the Lone Star Showdown grudge match against Texas A&M at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth in early December.
Central Michigan comes to Austin after that, then Texas travels to Providence in an attempt to avenge last season’s home loss to the Friars. Big 12 Conference play begins in early January, but not before Texas hosts High Point as the final non-conference opponent besides the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Saturday, Jan. 25. The conferences will announce the matchups and locations of those games in the future.
