For the first time since the final season of the Colt McCoy era, ESPN’s College GameDay is coming to Austin, as the crew will be in town next week for the much-anticipated Week 2 showdown between the No. 10 Texas Longhorns and No. 7 LSU Tigers.

The Longhorns are 5-1 all-time when hosting GameDay, including back-to-back wins over Texas Tech and No. 11 Missouri in 2009 and 2008, respectively, and 10-6 all-time with GameDay on hand. LSU is 15-12 all-time with College GameDay in town.

Kickoff between Texas and LSU is set for Saturday, Sept. 7 at 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC. It will mark the first meeting between the two stories programs since 2003, when Mack Brown’s Longhorns topped then-Nick Saban’s Tigers in the Cotton Bowl, 35-20.
