On Saturday, 2021 Lexington (Ky.) Frederick Douglas offensive guard Jager Burton made his way to the Forty Acres for the first time to take in Texas Longhorns’ 45-14 season-opening win over Louisiana Tech.

On Sunday, Burton headed back to the Bluegrass with what he dubbed as one of his “dream offers” in hand, he announced on Twitter.

The 6’3, 271-pound junior also owns offers from the likes of Alabama, Clemson, Kentucky, Ohio State, Oregon, and Penn State, with his Texas offer bringing his total to 17.

After opening the season with a trip to Austin, Burton will be in Clemson next weekend to watch the top-ranked Tigers take on No. 12 Texas A&M. Burton’s teammate, four-star 2020 offensive tackle Walker Parks, is currently committed to Clemson.

Unsurprisingly, given that he’s a local product, Burton has unofficially visited Kentucky on numerous occasions, toured Penn State during the spring, and camped with Clemson, Ohio State, and Alabama.

A four-star talent, Burton is now one of just three offensive guards with a Longhorns offer, joining Katy Taylor’s Bryce Foster, who’s currently the top-ranked prospect at the position, and Houston North Shore standout Jaeden Roberts, who’s ranked as the third-best offensive guard in the class.

Burton is currently ranked as the nation’s No. 190 player overall, as the No. 5 offensive guard, and as the No. 2 player in Kentucky, per the 247Sports Composite.
