After falling at home to the LSU Tigers on Saturday night, 45-38, the Texas Longhorns also fell in the updated AP Top 25, dropping three spots from No. 9 to No. 12.
Also previously No. 9 in the Amway Coaches Poll, Texas fell four spots to No. 13.
LSU, the team that sent Texas sliding a bit in the polls, leapfrogged No. 6 Ohio State and No. 5 Oklahoma to take control of the No. 4 spot in the AP Top 25. Based on the current Top 25, the Sooners are the only ranked opponent remaining on Texas’ schedule.
No. 12 Texas (1-1) and No. 15 Oregon (1-1) are the only teams ranked among the top 15 with a loss throughout the first three weeks of the season.
Next up, the Longhorns will look to get back into the win column as the cap their non-conference slate on Saturday against Rice (0-2) at NRG Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
