The lights will be on at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium when the Texas Longhorns open their conference slate against the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday, Sept. 21, as kickoff time for the matchup has been set for 6:30 p.m. CT., the school announced.
The matchup will mark Texas’ fourth Saturday evening game of the young season, as kickoffs against Louisiana Tech and LSU were scheduled for 7 p.m. CT and 6:30 p.m. CT, respectively. This coming Saturday, at NRG Stadium in Houston, the Horns will cap their non-conference slate at 7 p.m. CT against Rice.
The Longhorns are still looking for their first win against the Pokes of the Tom Herman era.
In 2017, Herman’s debut campaign in Austin, Texas fell at home against the No. 10 Cowboys in overtime, 13-10. Last season, with the Longhorns owning a No. 6 national ranking, Oklahoma State raced out to a fast start and fended off a late Texas push to win, 38-35.
Texas currently owns a 64 percent chance to beat Oklahoma State for the first time since 2014, per ESPN’s FPI.
