Aledo (TX) four star wide receiver JoJo Earle announced via Instagram that he had trimmed his list of schools down to five, and surprisingly the Longhorns did not make the cut for the dynamic wide out.

Texas seemed to be in play, but with recent coaching changes, specifically on the offensive side, it looks like Earle is searching elsewhere. pic.twitter.com/0oYYQ7EtCY
Texas has been recruiting Earle for awhile now, as they were his second FBS offer back in November of 2018. For a good stretch Texas was perceived to be in a pretty good position in this recruitment, but with the recent staff shake ups and the struggles on the field this past season they are currently on the outside looking in.
It is still early in the process for the 2021 cycle, so there is certainly time for the staff to try to right the ship with Earle and cast a wide net, but it is no doubt a bit of a red flag given how early to the party the staff arrived in this recruitment and how they’ve prioritized Earle.
Whoever Tom Herman ultimately hires to be the wide receivers coach, their first priority will be to try to get Texas back into the conversation for Earle’s commitment, as he is one of the top receivers in the nation and would add a dynamic to the Texas wide receiver group that is not abundant on campus currently.
