Texas extended an offer to three star wide receiver Savion Williams out of Marshall (TX) high school earlier today.
Williams was previously an Arkansas pledge, but re-opened his recruitment after the staff changes.
Williams’ name has been on radar for the Longhorns for a bit now, but things have recently picked up with the loss of Quentin Johnston last month and now with new wide receivers coach Andre Coleman in place as the full time position coach.
With this cycle heading into the home stretch it looks like the Texas staff is positioning themselves to get an official before NSD2 and make a run at earning Williams signature. They will have to beat out the likes of Arkansas, SMU, and TCU if they would like to do just that and each of those programs have been hot on his trail for awhile.
While Williams projects to wide receiver at the next level, he actually spent his senior season under center for the Mavericks where he was able to account for 19 total touchdowns on the season.
