According to a report from Jason Suchomel of Orangebloods, three star Duncanville cornerback Ennis Rakestraw has locked in official visit to Texas for the final weekend prior to National Signing Day.
Big early-morning #Longhorns recruiting update. Duncanville CB Ennis Rakestraw (@EnnisRakestraw) tells me he'll take a Texas official visit on January 31 after UT did an in-home last night. Rakestraw’s stock has absolutely soared over the past month after having a very strong playoff showing for the Panthers, and it has brought some of the nation’s elite programs to his doorstep trying to get a visit heading into the home stretch.
Rakestraw received an in-home visit from Alabama’s Nick Saban and the Tide will host him for an official visit this weekend.
With the Longhorn defensive coordinator Chris Ash going in-home with Rakestraw last night, it looks like Texas has positioned itself to be right in the thick of things heading down to the wire, as they will have to fight off the SEC to earn Rakestraw’s signature.
Going head to head with Alabama on and off the field is always tough, but fortunately for Texas they hold the proximity advantage in this battle and with the Longhorns getting the last word later this month they will be able to put their best foot forward when Rakestraw and his family roll into Austin.
