Texas Longhorns sophomore linebacker Ayodele Adeoye is dealing with a foot injury, and is scheduled to undergo surgery next week to repair the issue, the university announced.
In 2019, Adeoye played in all thirteen games for the Longhorns, starting eight as a redshirt freshman. He recorded 45 tackles: three for a loss, two a half sacks and an interception.
The Longhorns are already thin at the position, and Adeoye’s injury doesn’t help. He’s currently the leading candidate to start at the rover position for the Longhorns in the fall.
The good news is that the sophomore is expected to return in time for summer workouts, and should be at full strength and in full health by the time fall camp rolls around this year.
