Tacoma (WA) Lincoln four star athlete Julien Simon received an offer from Texas earlier today per his Twitter account, as the Longhorns continue to cast a wide net nationally looking for elite talent.
Simon is a two way player for Lincoln, as he lines up at running back, wide receiver, and linebacker, but he likely projects to the defensive side of the ball at the next level.
Simon has nineteen reported offers to date with several Pac-12 powers right in the thick of things early on in this recruitment. Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, and Washington have all offered Simon and it looks like the early buzz has him pegged to stay on the West Coast to play his collegiate ball.
Simon’s uncommon athleticism and great ball skills tend to make me think he will have the chance to be a three down linebacker at the next level, as he fits the mold in what you are looking for at the position as defensive coordinators try to combat high octane spread offenses.
This recruitment reads like an uphill battle for the Longhorns early on, but these are the type of players and recruitments they have to win if they want to truly be back.
