The Pac-12 conference asked College Football Playoff commissioners if they would consider expanding this season’s four-team bracket to include eight teams. The Pac-12 cited disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic as their reasoning for the temporary expansion.

The CFP declined, according to multiple reports. Four playoff teams in 2020 it is.
