On Monday, the Big 12 announced that the Texas Longhorns will kick off against the Baylor Bears in Austin at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Oct. 24 at 2:30 p.m. Central on ESPN.
That is, if the Bears are able to resume football activities and have enough players available — Baylor suspended football activities on Thursday and announced the postponement of this week’s game against Oklahoma State.
Last year, Texas suffered an embarrassing 24-10 loss that wasn’t as close as the final score thanks to a meaningless touchdown scored at the end of the game by the Horns. In the overall series, however, Texas has a significant advantage with a 78-27-4 all-time record. In the Tom Herman era, the Longhorns are 2-1 against the Bears, including a 23-7 home victory in 2018.
Texas has its second bye week of the season before hosting Baylor coming of last weekend’s loss to Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl.
