Kickoff for next Saturday’s Halloween matchup at Boone Pickens Stadium between the Texas Longhorns and No. 6 Oklahoma State Cowboys is set for 3:00 CT, the Big 12 conference announced on Monday. The game will be nationally televised on FOX.
Fortunately for the Longhorns, along with limited stadium capacity, an afternoon kickoff in Stillwater is a much more favorable draw instead of playing at night.
Mike Gundy is one of three current Big 12 head coaches to have a winning record against Tom Herman. Each of the three previous meetings were decided by six points or less.
The Cowboys have won seven of the last 10 games in this series. Before then, their program was an all-time 2-22 and had lost 12 straight games against Texas.
Texas holds a 15-2-1 record all-time in games played on Halloween, including a 41-14 victory in Stillwater during Colt McCoy’s senior season in 2009.
While Texas hosts Baylor on Saturday, Oklahoma State welcomes the conference-leading No. 17 Iowa State Cyclones to Stillwater. Both games will be played in the afternoon.
The last time these two foes met in Stillwater?
The game ended with a heated exchange at midfield between Herman and Gundy.
