With left tackle Sam Cosmi and safety Caden Sterns declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft and opting out for the remainder of the season, the Texas Longhorns will have two new starters against the Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday in Manhattan.

Along the offensive line, the depth chart indicates that the coaches haven’t settled on whether redshirt sophomore Christian Jones will start at left tackle or his normal position at right tackle. If Jones starts at left tackle, it looks like redshirt sophomore Reese Moore will start at right tackle, but if Jones stays on the right, freshman Andrej Karic could get the start on the left side.
Texas could also be without senior center Derek Kerstetter, who suffered a sprained ankle against Iowa State. During Sunday’s practice freshman Jake Majors was the replacement for Kerstetter at center.
On defense, junior safety BJ Foster will make the 16th start of his career, replacing Sterns.
At punter, Texas now has a backup for junior Cameron Dicker — senior Jack Geiger, a walk on
