The senior captain was looking to win the fourth bowl game of his career before leaving the game, passing for 160 yards on 10 completions and a touchdown in the first half. Ehlinger finished out the final drive of the first half, but Casey Thompson came out for the opening drive of the second half, a two-play touchdown drive for the Longhorns.
The redshirt sophomore capped off the Longhorns’ opening drive with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Joshua Moore to give Texas a two-score lead.
Now Ehlinger will have to make a decision about his future after being unable to finish the last game of the 2020 season and, perhaps, his career.
