Three years after New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick served as the keynote speaker for the Texas Longhorns Coaches Clinic and a year after Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay filled that role, the school announced on Tuesday that Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel is the keynote speaker this year.

The yearly clinic will take place on April 3 and 4 in Austin and serves as a key opportunity for the Longhorns staff to build relationships with high school football coaches to successfully engage in the straight-line recruiting model that those coaches demand.

Vrabel is a former Ohio State defensive end who spent three years on the coaching staff in Columbus following his successful 14-year NFL career that included one Pro Bowl selection and three Super Bowl wins. In 2014, Vrabel joined the Houston Texans to coach the linebackers and became the defensive coordinator in 2017. The following year, he got his first head coaching job with the Titans.

He’s gone 18-14 in his two years in Nashville, but took the Titans to the AFC Championship game this year before losing the Chiefs.
