On Thursday, the Texas Longhorns announced the final addition to the 2025 football schedule — a home game at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Sept. 6 against the San Jose State Spartans.
The 2025 season opens with a trip to Columbus to face Ohio State at Ohio Stadium on Aug. 30 and the non-conference schedule concludes with UTEP traveling to Austin on Sept. 13.
The only other matchup between the Longhorns and Spartans came in 2017, the second game of head coach Tom Herman’s tenure at Texas. It wasn’t close, as the Horns pulled out a 56-0 victory that included 623 yards of offense, two forced turnovers, and only 42 rushing yards allowed. Chris Warren ran for 166 yards on 16 carries and two touchdowns in that game.
