The 2020 recruiting class for the Texas Longhorns is still in the early stages of adding preferred walk ons for next season and added Highland Park wide receiver/tight end Paxton Anderson on Monday.

Listed at 6’4 and 207 pounds, Anderson is the grandson of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and the former teammate of Texas linebacker signee Prince Dorbah. Anderson isn’t as highly regarded as some other recent preferred walk ons for the Longhorns like now-departed quarterback Sam Saxton or Jett Bush, but he did report an offer from Arkansas in November and received an endorsement from Gil Brandt.
Anderson suffered from injuries throughout his high school career — his MaxPreps page only lists eight games at the varsity level with 18 catches for 217 yards and two touchdowns.
