Um. So ... well ... at least! ... ah, forget it.
We give up. Without Texas Longhorns sports, we don’t know what to do with ourselves.
The blogs must go on.

NEWS FROM ELSEWHERE IN LONGHORN LAND AND THE BIG 12
- In case you haven’t heard yet, the NCAA Tournament has been cancelled. So have all Big 12 activities, including baseball, softball ... you get it. From the Austin American-Statesman: “Less than an hour before tipoff Thursday, Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte called Shaka Smart, who was in the Sprint Center locker room. The Longhorns’ coach then gave his lieutenant Cody Hatt unmistakable instructions: Get our players off the court. The same scenario played out in Texas Tech’s locker room, too. So with about 45 minutes remaining on the pre-game clock, the Longhorns and Red Raiders both scurried off as league officials canceled the Big 12 tournament. By mid-afternoon, the college basketball season was officially over, too. In an unprecedented move, the NCAA announced it was canceling the annual NCAA Tournament as well as all remaining winter and spring championships.”

- Also, so much for Texas baseball’s weekend series against the New Mexico Lobos. From Sports Illustrated: “The upcoming Texas baseball series against New Mexioc State has been cancelled. News of the cancellation came from the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) league office, which suspended all sporting activities until further notice. The Aggies were scheduled to travel to Austin for a three-game set from Friday through Sunday. It is just the latest in a series of cancellations as sports have ground to halt in North America over concerns of the spread of the novel coronavirus.”
Texas will not play baseball at home this weekend against New Mexico.

The Golf, Rowing, Baseball, Softball and Tennis seasons, in addition to the Texas Relays, Spring Soccer and Spring Football Practices are postponed until after the March 29 date. #HookEm
- Amid all the cancellations and postponements, we have to feel bad for guys like John Burt, a receiver and All-American track star for the Longhorns. “Well I can’t say I’m anything but disappointed at how my college career ended. I wasn’t able to go out on my own terms. But most of all, I’m heartbroken that I will never get to compete in the Burnt orange and white ever again. My whole life has been working up to this moment and not being able to finish it the right way hurts like hell. I’m still forever grateful for the opportunity that I had to live my dream and compete for the greatest university in the world, The University of Texas at Austin. It’s been real, the eyes of Texas will always be upon you. Thank God I was born a Texas Longhorn [sic],” Burt wrong on his Instagram page yesterday. We hate it for him.
- Speaking of getting screwed, Texas softball is included. From 247Sports: “The No. 1-ranked team in the country according to Softball America, Texas (24-3) stood a real chance to claim the school’s first softball national title or at the very least make the program’s first trip to the WCWS since 2013. Coming off of a perfect 4-0 weekend in the Longhorn Invitational highlighted by senior Miranda Elish’s perfect game in a 7-0 win over New Mexico on Sunday in what could potentially be the final game of the year at McCombs Field.”
