Construction continues on the south end zone expansion for the Texas Longhorns at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. On Sunday, the school released footage revealing the progress, especially on the southeast tower.

As construction progresses, it’s encroaching on a few rows of the southside bleachers on the east and west sides of the stadiums, a design element that wasn’t clearly apparent on the early renderings.
The result is an enclosure of the south end zone that reduces some of those seats in order to move fans closer to the field in that end of the stadium and impose more vertical height with the two towers on either side of the video board.

The $125 million project is set for completion in July of 2021.
