On Wednesday evening, former Texas Longhorns safety Earl Thomas, who now plays for the Baltimore Ravens, released a video on Instagram announcing that he will appear on TMZ Thursday in order to address an “altercation” with his wife.

Thomas expressed his unhappiness about the information becoming public, saying that it’s not anyone else’s business.

“Instead of talking about us, just keep us in y’all’s prayers,” Thomas said. “Stuff like this happens. We try to live the best lives we possibly can, but sometimes it doesn’t go as planned.”

After Thomas posted the video, TMZ released its story on the altercation, based on Austin police reports from April 13. According to the report, Nina Thomas held her husband at gunpoint after she found him in bed with his brother and other women at an Airbnb rental following an argument and struck him in the face with it before he was able to wrestle it away.

When the police arrived, according to the report, Nina Thomas was chasing her husband with a knife outside the house.

She was reportedly booked for burglary of a residence with intent to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and subsequently had an emergency protective order filed against her. Earl Thomas was not arrested.
