Texas has extended offer to 2023 Dallas (TX) Parish Episcopal athlete Daniel Demery.
Demery contributed in all three phases of the game for Episcopal in 2019, as he lined up at wide receiver, defensive back, and returned kicks.
After a great conversation with @JayValai I’m honored to share that I have earned and been offered a football scholarship from @TexasFootball #HookEm @coachnovakov @BSublet @ParishFootball @ParishSports #MANIFESTING pic.twitter.com/udIvsI81oe— Daniel M Demery *ELLIS* (@DanielMDemery) June 13, 2020
Despite only heading into his sophomore season, Demery has almost reached double digit FBS offers with the likes of Colorado, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, SMU, and Vanderbilt already extending offers.
Texas has less than 20 offers to the class of 2023 to date, so the staff is being very conservative about who they are offering early. With so few offers out it speaks volumes to how the staff feels about Demery’s potential as a prospect if they are moving on him this early in the process.
With Texas cornerbacks coach Jay Valai being tagged in Demery’s tweet, it’s likely that the staff views him as a defensive back long term.
