The reign of the Oklahoma Sooners over the Big 12 Conference will continue in 2020, at least according to the expectations of media members who picked the Sooners to win a sixth straight conference championship in a poll released on Friday by the conference.
It’s the fifth consecutive year that the media has picked Oklahoma to win the Big 12 and the eighth time since 2011.
The media selected Oklahoma State to finish second and for Texas to finish third in an important season for head coach Tom Herman after his 10-win season in 2018 devolved into an 8-5 campaign in 2019 that resulted in the turnover of seven assistant coaches. The Longhorns did receive four first-place votes.
