In the Texas Longhorns’ quest for additional talent, Dallas Highland Park product Jack Leyrer becomes the latest to officially become a target, as the three-star offensive tackle announced an offer from Tom Herman’s program on Friday afternoon.

The in-state prospect now owns 32 offers from across the nation, with Texas joining options such as Stanford, USC, Baylor, SMU, Utah, Virginia Tech, and Colorado.
Leyrer’s Texas offer makes him the 12th offensive tackle on offensive line coach Herb Hand’s board, but of those invitations, only one has netted a commitment in the form of Katy Taylor’s Hayden Conner. Six others are already committed elsewhere, and Texas will liekly have their work cut out in this recruitment as Stanford continues to gain some momentum following a recent trip to Palo Alto.
Leyrer has recently taken self-guided trips to USC and Virginia, as well.
A 6’6, 275-pound prospect, Leyrer is ranked as the nation’s No. 77 offensive tackle and as the No. 876 player overall, per the 247Sports Composite.
