Dual-sport athlete Blake Peterson (Austin, TX/Westlake HS) announced on twitter his commitment to David Pierce and the University of Texas earlier today.

Peterson, who also plays football for the Chaps, seems to play a variety of positions all across the baseball diamond. His profile on Perfect Game lists him as an infielder, outfielder, and right-handed pitcher.

Peterson has been playing in the PBR Future Games for Team Texas over the last week at the utility position where the future Longhorn has been showing off his power at the plate.

Prep Baseball Report lists at him six-feet and 180 pounds and his scouting report says Peterson “showed he can play both infield and outfield” at the PBR Future Games. “At the plate, he’s got a bit handsy swing but showed a solid approach to hit the ball where it’s pitched and hit it with authority.”
