NCAA Football: Alamo Bowl-Utah vs Texas Daniel Dunn-USA TODAY Sports

After nine months, the Texas Longhorns are finally back on the football field.

The Longhorns are in a bit of an unenviable position, breaking in two new coordinators without the benefit of spring practice. COVID-19 has caused much upheaval to the normal operations of a football program, including three weekly tests to ensure the team remains healthy. Thankfully, both Texas and UTEP were reportedly cleared to play Saturday after a healthy round of testing Friday.

Injury Report:

  • Freshman OL Isaiah Hookfin (shoulder) — doubtful
  • Freshman WR Kelvontay Dixon (ankle) — doubtful
  • Sophomore WR Jake Smith (hamstring) — out
