On Wednesday, the NCAA Division I Council approved a Nov. 25 tipoff date for Division I men’s and women’s basketball programs. Full practices can begin as soon as Oct. 14.
That means Texas Longhorns basketball is happening this year, albeit at a later date.
The NCAA’s decision to move the start date is based off their intention to begin the season when at least three-quarters of Division I programs are wrapping up fall semesters online, meaning most campuses will be less populated, decreasing the likelihood of COVID-19 spreading.
