Once again, Texas Longhorns men’s basketball (10-1, 4-0) is ranked No. 4 in the latest AP Poll.

The Longhorns were ranked in the same position in last week’s AP Poll. Over the weekend, Texas topped the West Virginia Mountaineers in a Big 12 Conference showdown, in part thanks to Andrew Jones’ last-second three-point shot, ending the game 72-70. Jones also managed to score his thousandth career point as a Longhorn against the Mountaineers.

Remarkably, Jones’ career night was also highlighted by a personal accomplishment: the three-year anniversary of his cancer diagnosis, in which he’s now in remission.

Next up for the Longhorns is the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Wednesday, followed by the Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday. Neither team has looked anything special of late.

The only Big 12 team currently ranked higher than the Longhorns are the No. 2 Baylor Bears.

The Kansas Jayhawks are also ranked No. 6 in this week’s AP Poll.

The Longhorns will not face either team until next month.
