For the second time in three seasons, the Texas Longhorns have bested Bill Self’s program, as Shaka Smarts No. 8-ranked Horns controlled the contest throughout to dominate the No. 3 Kansas Jayhawks, 84-59.
Texas’ convincing win in this top-10 showdown further solidifies its status as one of the nation’s elite teams in Smart’s sixth season on the Forty Acres, and firmly places the Longhorns as one of the teams truly set to contend for a Big 12 title this season.
With the win, Texas improves to 8-1 overall and 2-0 in Big 12 play ahead of their Tuesday home stand vs. Iowa State.
